The
popular way to see Philadelphia and London is also
available in Dubai, where visitors can see the sights
onboard an open-top double decker bus. The Big Bus
Company has imported buses from the UK with 44 seats
upstairs and 28 downstairs and the tour includes
a live English commentary. Visitors travelling on
the buses can hop on and off the buses at their
leisure at the 19 stop tour. The buses operate seven
days a week from 9am to 5pm and there is free courtesy
shuttle service from selected beach hotels to and
from the departure point, Wafi City. The tour offers
you free entry to the Dubai Museum, Sheikh Saeed
Al Maktoum's House, and a free Wafi City Advantage
Card, which provides up to 20% discount at various
shops and food outlets.
The tour starts at the departure point, Wafi
City,
and passes along the Bur Dubai side of the Dubai Creek, which
includes the passing the Dubai Courts, Al Karama, Creek Walk
and Danat Dubai Berth, Al Fahidi Fort (Dubai Museum), Dubai
Old Souk, and Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House before crossing
the Dubai Creek through the Shindagha Tunnel. Now on the Deira
side of the Dubai Creek the tour continues through the Gold
Souk, Spice Station, Abra Station, and Deira City Centre before
crossing again over to the Bur Dubai side of the Dubai Creek
over the Al Garhood Bridge. We then pass the Al Boom Tourist
Village and Wonderland amusement park, and then pass Wafi
City before heading to the suburbs of Dubai known as Jumeirah.
We pass the Dubai World Trade Centre and Emirates Towers (tallest
business hotel in the world) followed by the Jumeriah Beach
Park, Jumariah Public Beach, Meridien Mina Seyahi Hotel, Royal
Meridien Hotel, Oasis Beach Hotel, Sheraton Beach Hotel, Mercato
Mall and then the beautiful Jumeirah Mosque.
The tour
lasts for an hour and a half and costs Dhs. 150 (US$ 41) for adults and Dhs. 100
(US$ 27) for children from 5 to 15, while a family of 2 adults and 2 children will cost 400
